RAM is an abbreviation for Random Access Memory. This is a type of computer memory, that, different from other storage devices such as harddrives or DVDs, permits the data to be accessed directly without reading the previous content located inside it. Anytime a program is started, it's stored inside the RAM, because it may be accessed considerably faster than if it was read from another media. In terms of the web hosting service itself, extra RAM means that more web apps can work at the same time on a certain web server, particularly if they're resource-demanding and are accessed by a significant number of people all at once. Unlike a shared web hosting solution in which the system resources of a particular account can be flexible and quite often depend on what other end users consume also, a VPS provides a guaranteed amount of RAM which can be used always. That memory is allocated to one web server only and won't be used by other customers even if it is not being used.

Guaranteed RAM in VPS Servers

If you choose to host your sites on a VPS server bought from our company, the amount of RAM that you will get with it shall be guaranteed and will be available constantly no matter what. The VPS accounts are set up on effective hosting servers and when your virtual server is set up, the RAM memory offered with the particular plan shall be "locked", so even if you use just a part of it at one point while another VPS account is using almost all of its system resources, we shall not allot the free RAM from your account even for the short term. This is valid when you upgrade the whole memory of the virtual server too - the additional amount will be added to your existing account permanently. You'll be able to upgrade either the whole plan or only the server’s RAM with just a couple of clicks within the billing Control Panel.

Guaranteed RAM in Dedicated Servers

All our dedicated server packages come with a large amount of physical memory, that will enable you to run very heavy web apps with no problems. We use brand-new and meticulously tested hardware components when we set up a new web server to ensure that there won't be any issues of any sort. The RAM memory isn't an exception and when you order a dedicated server, we'll ensure that you get the best efficiency possible from the configuration you have selected. Even if we discover that you aren't using the whole capacity of the machine, we will never modify the hardware in any way, so the total amount of RAM that will be at your disposal will always be the same. You are able to look at the configuration, including the physical memory, in your billing CP at any time.
